This structured 4-year program takes children from complete beginners to confident young sewists. As Virginia’s only Palmer Pletsch certified instructor, I provide professional-level instruction using the proven SewCityKids curriculum.
What Your Child Will Learn: Students explore garment making, bag making, patchwork, embroidery, applique, and more through hands-on projects. They work with different fabric types and learn proper fabric selection. Each session builds specific skills through practical application.

How the Program Works
๐ฏ Getting Started: Beginner Workshop
Every student begins with a 2-hour prerequisite workshop where they learn machine basics, threading, and complete their first project – the “It’s a Cinch” drawstring bag. This ensures all students enter the main program ready to succeed.

- Class: 75-minute private lessons with flexible scheduling
- Session: 6 consecutive classes (6 weeks)
- Level: 6 sessions total (36 weeks = about one school year)
- Complete Program: 4 Levels (approximately 4 years)
